Meet the HR Team

Colin Davison
Chairman

As our Chairman Colin has a wealth of business experience. He was formally CEO of Abbey Protection Plc and was instrumental in securing its Stock Market Flotation and subsequent sale to an American Insurer in 2014. Since retiring from Abbey, Colin has invested in a number of start-up businesses and is a Princes Trust Mentor. He also supports Coventry City... but we try not to hold that against him!

Simon Howes
Managing Director

In 2007 Simon co-founded Abbey HR Services which became AHR Consultants following a successful Management Buyout with our Chairman, Colin Davison in May 2017. Employer Advice Line is a part of AHR Consultants, who are HR, employment law, and safety specialists. Originally from Bristol, Simon now lives in a small village near Rugby, Warwickshire. He runs regularly and has completed the Great North Run 19 consecutive times. Simon is also a Princes Trust Mentor.

Rob Elliott
HR Consultant/Solicitor/Trainer

Rob has over 19 years’ experience working in HR and employment law, 17 of those as a qualified solicitor. He is vastly experienced in HR and employment law and also responsible for all Employment Tribunal matters. He advises on the whole gamut of HR issues ranging from discipline and grievance, through to discrimination, TUPE, and redundancy/ restructures. Rob is passionate about delivering solutions tailored to the client’s aims, many involving complex situations that require balancing risk with achieving the desired outcome. Outside of work Rob enjoys spending time with his young family, and training, coaching and competing in CrossFit competitions.

Tee Aujlay
Business Development Manager

Tee is an enthusiastic and experienced Business Development and Account Manager and has worked in Sales and with the Accountancy profession for over 20 years. In September 2017 Tee joined the team at Employer Advice Line and demonstrated true commitment to her role by successfully completing level 3 and level 5 CIPD Diploma in Human Resources Management. In her spare time, Tee enjoys yoga, long walks, challenging her two teenagers, and she would never say ‘no’ to bruschetta and a glass (or two) of Prosecco.

Gemma Long
HR Consultant

Gemma is a Chartered Member of the CIPD with a Level 7 Post Graduate Diploma in HR Management. She has over 15 years HR experience in a wide range of different industries, including engineering, FMCG, Retail and Education. She enjoys dealing with complex employee relation cases while focusing on delivering the most appropriate solution and helping organisations get the best from their people. Outside of work Gemma loves spending time with her daughter and holidays!

Carol Moor
HR Consultant

Carol has an extensive career in HR, working in a wide range of industries including retail, financial services, local authority, charities, tech companies, hospitality and leisure. As a HR Director, Carol has worked both nationally and internationally. She is a trained Coach and supports leaders in getting the best from their people.

Christine Cullen
HR Consultant

Christine is a Chartered Member of the CIPD with a Level 7 Post Graduate Diploma in HR Management and has over 30 years HR experience which includes a number of years as Head of HR in a wide range of industries including manufacturing, utilities, automotive and logistics. She is used to handling complex ER cases and has significant experience of working with trade unions at a local and national level.

Charles Waterlow
HR Consultant

Charles has spent his working life in HR, including time with Next and Olympus Sports as HR Director. He co-founded AHR Consultants and Employer Advice Line in 2007 with Simon. Charles is another 'sporty' member of the team having cycled from Lands End to John O'Groats, completed four marathons and 19 Great North Runs with Simon.

Gary Cuppelditch
HR Consultant

Gary has over 20 years' experience of working in HR. This includes seven years in Head of HR and Director roles across public and private sector businesses. Prior to moving into HR and training, Gary worked in logistics and retail as an Operational Manager.

Nick O’Kane
Employment Law Paralegal

Nick has over 5 years’ experience in employment litigation, acting for both claimants and respondents. Nick began his career in the voluntary sector with an employment rights charity based in Birmingham where he also served as trustee and treasurer. Moving into HR and employment law consultancy Nick continued developing his skills as a litigator. Nick prides himself on building strong client relationships by providing pragmatic solutions to the full range of employment law challenges.

Simran Rooprai
HR Advisor

Simran is an enthusiastic, bubbly and driven individual who has graduated from university with a BA honours in Human Resources Management. She is also CIPD qualified to Level 5 and is starting her career within HR. Outside of work Simran enjoys attending Zumba classes and loves shopping!

Kate Willson
Training Associate

Kate is MCIPD qualified and has a strong HR and development background with many years experience across a wide range of organisations. She has experience in designing and delivering training on a wide range of management development subjects. She is qualified in a number of psychometric tools and profiling instruments which she uses for both selection and team or individual development. Away from work, Kate enjoys walking in the countryside, exercising and spending time with her family.
